Highway Stops has future-proofed the tanks at its forecourt in Buckinghamshire by having them lined with Eurotank’s Lifeliner Lite double-skin system.
Tony Head, Development Director of Highway Stops, said the works were important because Amersham is a high-risk area.
“For other sites we have chosen Tank Re-tightening but Amersham is a sensitive environmental area so we felt this site would benefit from a full tank reline,” said Tony.
Lifeliner Lite uses the existing tank as a mould for the outer fibreglass skin, and then an interstitial layer is created with parabeam honeycomb. Three further layers of hand-laid fibreglass and resin create the inner skin, plus a top wax coat.
The site continued trading throughout.
