Eurotank Installations has installed a two-hose pump for dispensing both diesel and HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) fuel for a customer as part of their trial to assess the take-up of the greener alternative fuel.
Eurotank Installations installed three new two-hose pumps at the site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire along with new pump cradles and completed all pipework alterations required for the new grade of fuel. Two tank lids and frames were also replaced after being identified as needing upgrading during the site scoping visit.
While it’s a straight conversion from diesel to HVO in terms of usage, the tanks needed preparation with a thorough clean in addition to the pipework alterations so prior to the installation, Eurotank Environmental carried out tank cleaning using one of our tank cleaning robots in line with the customer’s requirement for all tank works to be carried out remotely without entering the tank.
The installation is part of a five-site trial of HVO fuel for HGV drivers. Eurotank has already cleaned the tanks on another four sites.
